Specialisation GEOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING, GEOLOGICAL REMOTE SENSING

Personal Statement

I am an early-career researcher, specialising in geological and environmental engineering with focus on applying remote sensing techniques for hydrocarbon pollution management, essentially as a rapid response tool. My research primarily involves characterising and quantifying oil slick in spillage, particularly in marine environment, using geospatial data. With similar dataset, I also engage in pollution mapping involving varying geological phenomenon such bitumen seepage, which is also of hydrocarbon origin. With the use of wide range of remote sensing data, my research aiming to support environmental monitoring and sustainability resource management, thereby, bridging gaps between engineering and environmental science, to develop data-driven solution for present and future ecological challenges.
