Personal Statement
I am a mid-career researcher with a passion for addressing some challenges of our time. My research focuses on the synthesis of nanomaterials with tailored properties for applications in catalysis, environmental remediation, and biomedical science. My work involves exploring cost-effective and scalable methods for producing nanoparticles, with particular attention to green synthesis approaches using plant extracts. This allowed me to investigate not only the physicochemical properties of the resulting nanomaterials but also their functionality and compatibility in real-world applications. I also developed a strong interest in sustainable materials, particularly bioplastics. Motivated by the urgent global need to reduce plastic pollution, I research on biodegradable polymers derived from renewable resources such as starch, cellulose, and agricultural waste. My work explored how the structural modification of these biopolymers could improve their mechanical strength, thermal stability, and degradation rates. I also studied the incorporation of nanofillers into bioplastic matrices, effectively combining my interests in nanomaterials and polymer science to create more robust, multifunctional materials. My goal is to contribute to bridging the gap between innovation and sustainability, the development of next-generation materials that are not only high-performing but also environmentally responsible.
