Personal Statement

I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a dedicated academic with extensive experience in industry and academia. As a university lecturer and mentor, I have played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of construction professionals. Through an engaging teaching style, real-world insights, and a commitment to student-centred mentorship, I have inspired many students practising as quantity surveyors, construction managers and project procurement specialists. My research focuses on public-private partnerships, procurement strategies, and team cohesion as drivers of successful project outcomes. I strive to maintain a strong professional presence by managing some construction projects and delivering expert services in cost estimation, procurement planning, and project control. As an educator, I bring practical relevance from professional practice into the classroom while equally applying scholarly rigour to my work. Integrating theory and practice continues to define my contribution to the built environment research.
